IMPORTANT NOTICE-
Support for this site has officially been discontinued.
Please use our new URL, http://www.lafacroft.com to use an up-to-date version of this site. This URL will no longer be supported by Ross and I. Thank-you for co-operating.
-Andrew
Founder of Lafacroft Inc.
As Ross said in the last news post, a beta of the site at its new URL has been released. It would be very kind of visitors to report any bugs found by emailing us at admin@lafacroft.com. This current site (the one you're looking at right now) WILL continue to be supported until the new site is completely finished. After that, this site may not be supported anymore but will still remain online.
I will be porting the news archive over to the new site soon so don't worry about that either.
***Please note that the new website won't be visible to the public until January 3rd, so until then, a generic page with advertisements will appear***
Here's this month's edition of the To-Do memo and there are some big changes coming our way. . .
First of all, the site is going to begin using a new domain name, http://www.lafacroft.com. However, in order to do that, Ross needs to re-code the site. This project brings many things to Lafacrfoft Inc. that Ross and I have wanted for quite a while. There can be better accounts, comment systems, file uploading which doesn't require emailing us, and much more!
Ross and I are working on new logos for the site right now. We are experimenting with colours and gradiants so please be patient while aal this stiff is going on and PLEASE email us at lafacroft@gmail.com with feedback so we can fine-tune the site to meet your wishes. Don't worry, we don't have automated replies.
This site the way it is now will still be online and I may continue to use it to post news. When the new site is ready we will provide the link to it.
Anyway, at least some of this work should be done this month along with the usual community news and updates. We wish you a happy January; and hope you will like the updates.
- More user account features, such as themes for the website and personalized pages
- Improved archives, including sorting and probably searching
- Improved file submission. This includes just a form to fill out on the website to submit your file
- More content. This includes more files in the archives and new tutorials on how to use the TI Nspire
Good news everyone! I've found another TI-Nspire site online with some activities. Ross shoulw put it up in the Links menu next time there is a site update. Here it is at http://www.geocities.com/
I hope you enjoy it.
Good news for everyone too lazy to download VTI-Brandon Meyer has introduced a new web-based simulator here. Too bad it can't emulate the TI-Nspire (Yay-no computer software (I wish)!), but at least it simulates the TI-82. 83. and 85. Let's hope he adds in more calculators to emulate!
In other news...
You CAN downgrade your TI-Nspire OS by deleting the OS through the Maintanence menu (pull out the batteries, put them back in, and hold Enter, On, Home, and P) and loading an older version. However, due to licence issues, we can't upload the operating systems to our server so we can only send it to people via special requests (including emails). I have v1.3, 1.4, and 1.6 (first release), CAS and non-CAS, available if you want any. Email us at lafacroft@gmail.com if you are interested.
